RED BULL SUPER HIT TO HOST FREESKIING’S BIGGEST MOVES
SKIERS WILL GO ALL-OR-NOTHING AT ONE-HIT HALFPIPE CONTEST
WINNER EARNS INVITE TO THE PRO/AM DUMONT CUP

Red Bull Super Hit is a freeski pipe contest unlike any other, testing the limits of what is possible in the world of halfpipe skiing. In a typical halfpipe event, competitors play it safe in order to assemble a top-to-bottom contest run, holding back on their biggest moves in favor of consistency. At Red Bull Super Hit, skiers will pour everything they have into their first hit, blasting their highest air or their most technical dream trick right when they’re at their freshest and strongest.

Red Bull Super Hit takes place at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania, home to the halfpipe that earned #1 East Coast Pipe honors in TransWorld Snowboarding magazine’s 2010 Resort Poll. The action goes down March 20th with a 12 p.m. start time.

The top skier at Red Bull Super Hit will score a trip to the Dumont Cup at Sunday River in Maine’s Mahoosuc Mountains the following weekend. In addition to paid travel and lodging, the winner will qualify straight into the Semifinal of the Dumont Cup, bypassing the qualifying rounds that will cut the field down from 150 entrants to 40.

The Dumont Cup, a Pro/Am Jam competition in its second year, is hosted by Red Bull athlete and world-renowned freeskier Simon Dumont. Dumont and an impressive list of pro skiers, including Tom Wallisch, TJ Schiller, Peter Olenick and Jossi Wells, will mentor and judge the amateurs throughout Qualifiers and Semifinals, and then compete with them in the Final.

"I wanted to give new kids an opportunity to ski with the best,” says Dumont. “I look forward to seeing who the next stars of this sport will be."

Amateurs throughout the country can register at www.dumontcup.com for their chance to compete alongside the pros. The cost of registration is $100, which includes a lift ticket.

Qualifiers will be held in two jam sessions on Friday, March 26th, split by a slopeside lunch with the pros between the sessions. The Semifinals will take place on Saturday, March 27th, after which the pros will relinquish their judging roles to compete side-by-side with the 20 finalists. Certified judges will determine the top three overall winners, and a stand-out amateur will also be named.

A total prize purse of $20,000 is up for grabs. The winner will walk away with $12K, second place grabs $5K, and third place will receive $3K. In addition, the top amateur will receive a one-week scholarship to Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania, an action sports camp and training facility.
