THE MISSION of the Ski The East Freeride Tour (STEFT) is to synchronize the eastern freeride community by providing a completely unique platform for collaboration, competition, recognition, and progression of freeride skiing.
Previously, each stop was independent of one another. Now, by establishing a collaborative STEFT,
we've created the ability to integrate International Free Skiers Association (IFSA) sanctioning and points system, new sponsorship opportunities, additional awards including $100 cash to each event's male alpine ski winner, and perhaps most importantly, a string of Ski The East-style apres parties that celebrate each competition and the tour collectively.
Additionally, the STEFT will supply full event coverage on SkiTheEast.net with news articles, photos, and video edits, as well as a feature-length compilation movie slated for web and tv broadcast. STEFT will also help facilitate event awareness on a larger scale through garnering mainstream print, television, and Internet medias.
The bottom line: through SkiTheEast.net, we're offering the ski community the best possible info and coverage on the best freeride competitions our region has to offer.
Lastly, by incorporating the IFSA points system,
THE SKI THE EAST FREERIDE TOUR OVERALL POINT WINNER WILL BE AWARDED PREQUALIFICATION
IN THE 2010/2011 SUBARU FREESKIING WORLD TOUR!
This is an incredible opportunity to allow the top Eastern talent to compete in a world-class event series. Check the "Standings & Scoring" page for more details.
