Words by Zander Basedepth l STE Editor at Large (and grumpster at end of holiday weekend)

The internet is killing skiing.
It’s sucking the soul right out of it.
There’s no more lore.
When everything is documented or staged, there’s nothing left to enjoy in your mind.
Eye candy is rotting our brains and appreciation for what matters.
You can visit every cool spot without getting off your couch.
It used to take effort.
Local scenes were unique and respected.
Now - it’s about camera angles, focus effects, and view counts. Got pageviews?
Will you like my photo on instasuck? Ooh, that feels good. I'll do it back to you.
Now we're getting somewhere.. Christ!
What happens on the mountain, used to stay on the mountain.
That made the mountain scene matter.
Now it’s the portrayal.
Sure would be great if there was another f*cking blog about skiing.
Just what we need.
When there were 6 total crews making a decent flick, there was time to enjoy ourselves in between.
Now there’s more cut up footage than hours in the day.
Overload = overkill.
Vote for this. Share that. Like it. Jack it. Pump it.
Ski porn has too many amateurs and too many screens on which to view.
Is there a solution?
No.
We’re screwed.
Must play by the new accidentally written rules.
Dude, he “kills it.” Yes he does. Yes we do. Carry on.

Then punch me in the face.
